Urban History

We were invited by Terra Incognita and OneClick to create an artwork for White Night Košice in 2011. Long before we set foot in this wondrous city, we had serendipitously encountered a towering structure, a beacon known as "Urban." This tower, however, was not just a physical landmark; it was steeped in history, a story of a man named Urban who had left an indelible mark on Košice.

Our creative exploration was infused with a profound sense of curiosity and reverence as we delved into the narrative of Urban and the historical significance that had led to the naming of this iconic tower. The story of Urban, a figure whose legacy echoed through the annals of time, became the inspirational bedrock upon which our artistic vision was built.

With a passionate desire to honor Urban's legacy, we embarked on the intricate process of crafting a tapestry of light and imagery. This artistic endeavor was not merely a retelling of history but an imaginative leap into the future of Košice, envisioning the city's evolution and continued vibrancy.

Our creation, aptly named "Urban hiSTORY," would become a testament to the confluence of past, present, and future. It was an offering to the festival and the people of Košice, a narrative that celebrated the city's rich heritage while also looking forward to the boundless possibilities that lay ahead.
